Well...we have spent the summer as a church going through Pastor Chuck Smith's book; "Why Grace Changes Everything." I hope that all of you had the opportunity to study along......in a small home group, at Beachside on Wednesday nights, or at home with your family. I have read this book a couple of times over the years, and studying it with friends and family was a real sweet blessing for me! I hope that it was for you as well. If you didn't get a chance to read and study the book, and you would like a copy of your own...see Marty, Mark, or Pastor Jeff and we will make sure to get you your own copy.
In the last chapter of this book, we read this...
YOUR ONE DUTY
God has given you but one responsibility: to believe in His promise.

Think about this. Stack this claim up against all that you know about God and His Word.
........Do you agree with it?
........Do you believe this to be a Biblical truth?
........What PROMISE is Pastor Chuck writing about?
........What does it mean to you and your journey through this life with Jesus?
........How does this truth change your thinking, prayers, faith, life?
Share your thoughts with us here.
Blessings Beachside Your friends and family! God is good!

--Yes!
--Yes!
--He is talking about the promise of eternal life in Heaven (the truth is, EVERYBODY will have eternal life...however, there is a choice you must make as to where you will be spending that eternity)
--It means I need to always put my trust and belief in Jesus Christ.
--Sometimes I think that I need to 'do more' to get to Heaven and be a real Christian...but I really don't! All I need to do is believe.

Yes this is a biblical truth that I believe in. I also believe that he died on the cross for my sin and made a promise that whoever believes in him will have eternal life. So I do believe God’s will and our duty is for us to believe in this and that’s all we need. As for fruit, we produce it through this belief because we are showing love to him by believing this and if you love someone the fruit comes naturally. This just means we need to remember this promise and believe in it. This makes us want to please God. We aren’t believing and doing works, we are believing making us produce works/fruit. This truth helps me to put focus not on doing good works, but believing in his promise and really thinking about pleasing God (not because it gets me to heaven) because I love him.

"This makes us want to please God." I live hearing that Joshua! A right relationship (by faith alone) Makes all the difference! Keep loving Jesus, my brother!
