Psalm 91:1-2
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, "You are my Refuge and my Fortress!"
I love the words "dwell" and "abide." They speak to me of finding and staying in a place of intimacy and close friendship with God. When we do this...we experience and enjoy the Lord as our "Refuge and Fortress"...our God, in whom we trust, and love, and enjoy...and share with others. I'm so glad for that! And I'm so glad for all of you!
Now...keep reading through this beautiful Psalm 91. Take a couple of the verses and tell us how they speak to you. Get your family and friends involved if you like, and let's allow these words from God's Love Letter to us bless our hearts and lives and we read and dwell on them. It's your turn friends...   There are 16 verses. I want to hear from at least 7 different Beachside family members!     READY???   GO!!!

Hmmmm...this is tough! But out of all of them, I think 10-11 speaks to me the most. It talks about how no evil will come near us and his angels will guard us wherever we go.

Nice Brooke! So...what do you think that looks like in our day to day life...angels guarding us? Can we know if when its happening?

I personally love verses 9-10, and how it says "If you say, 'the Lord is my refuge', and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent." It says that IF you say 'the Lord is my refuge', not 'the Lord will protect you even if you don't say that'. We need to proclaim that the Lord is our only source of shelter and safety, and IF we do that, He will protect us and keep us from harm and disaster.

Thanks Hannah. We believe with our hearts and confess with our mouths...that Jesus is LORD. We are His and He is ours! How beautiful to be held in His arms of love and care! Blessing!

I love the verses 14-16 which talk about:

Question = Why does God help us humans even though we sin and are insignificant compared to him?

Answer = “‘Because he loves me,’ says the LORD” (verse 14)

I feel loved by this because even though I sin if I still truly love God and repent my sins to him, he is forgiving and still is by my side.

This is truth but if we truly do love God I believe we won’t recklessly sin and fall into the fowler’s snare.

That being said, here are the things God said about the man or woman who loves him and acknowledges him.
— He will rescue him or her
— He will protect him or her
— He will answer him or her when he or she calls
— He will be with him or her in trouble
— He will deliver him or her and honor him or her
— He will satisfy him or her and show him or her his salvation
Hope you guys are doing things to save you from being bored!

This is so amazing and insightful Joshua! And how awesome is His love for us. There is such a beautiful peace in knowing that even if we sin, we have an advocate with the Father...Jesus Christ the righteous! (1 John 2:1)
And yes...If we love Him...truly love Him...we will keep His commandments! (1 John 2:3-6)
Thanks for your words of truth and encouragement! They have been a blessing to me tonight.
