Hi Beachside Youth!
Hope that you all were able to listen to or watch pastor Bert's message from last Sunday. If you didn't...drop what you are doing and pull it up on the Beachside website...it was so filled with good and important stuff for all of us. Bert talked about the importance of........
---LOVING GOD SUPREMELY AND SERVING OTHERS SINCERELY---
...What do YOU make of that? What does loving God supremely look like in the life of a believer, and specifically in YOUR own life? And what does it mean to serve others sincerely? Let's hear what you have to say. What are you doing to make loving and serving like this a more clear and dynamic reality in your life day after day? Post your answers here...and when you've done that, call your Beachside friends and ask them to get on here and to do the same. We love hearing from you all! Party coming soon, my friends! Eyes on Jesus!!!

Love God and put him first. It is VERY hard to do that, because, like Joshua said in the previous posting, we get distracted by things in the world. Especially when you are happy, you feel like you don’t need God. And that’s why some things you may THINK are bad, turn out to be trials, helping you trust God and grow in your faith. These trials may be painful, but if your faith grows, it is worth it.

Serve others, not grumpily or complaining about it because they are people, just like you. God made them in his image too. Treat others like you would want them to treat you.

Loving God supremely means to put Him first and knowing that He deserves to be put FIRST in your lives. Serving others sincerely means to me that we should serve with a willing heart and with a big smile on our face, no matter how much we DON'T want to do it. Just like the people that come and clean the entire church each week, we should like they do; singing and smiling the whole time! When we serve sincerely, we are serving not half-heartedly, but WHOLE heartedly. We need to love God supremely, and only THEN we can serve sincerely!

Just like everybody in this crazy world, I have trouble loving God supremely and serving sincerely. Sometimes I need to slow down, stop what I'm doing, and remind myself that God is my first love. Especially when I serve, I need to think about that, because most of the time, I don't want to do what I'm supposed to. :) Basically all the other things I wanted to say, Brooke has already said (thank you, Brooke!) so all I want to say is that we just need to stop and think--about how God loves us, so we should love Him right back! Keep your eyes on Jesus!!!

You amazing people just about covered it, but in my words you have to love others with a determined and sincere heart as one way to show love to God. You also love God supremely to help you love and appreciate others sincerely. Both support each other.

To serve others sincerely is to serve them as like a habit not a burden or something done when asked to. Example: If an elderly person has trouble crossing the street, you should help without them needing to ask you. Our most important thing to do when serving is to share the gospel to bring others everlasting life with God. Like Pastor Bert said, we need to have the right message as in the gospel message which is:
Sharing the message of Jesus’s dying for us and resurrection
and sharing about God’s sovereignty.
We do need to add to the church and the gift of eternal life with Christ is the best thing we can share with joy for others.

To love God supremely we can listen and obey his words and put these works above all things.
Matthew 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.“ It is very important to have God and his word as the foundation and foremost important part of our life.

It is very hard to do all these things because this is what the evils of this world are exactly against, but we can take heart to ask God through prayer. This is why I feel prayer is very powerful because no matter the subject God wants us to pray and seek his word. This is how I apply it to my life because we do all need help on this.

In my life right now I try to spend time with my grandpa and just pray with him to get the peace he needs
