Hi there Beachside Youth friends and family!
I read this in Jude 24 and 25 this morning...
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen...and it has stuck with me all day long! I think it is very important to start the day off, as best as we are able, by opening ourselves up to relationship with our God. By seeking Him early before the day gets busy and hectic. A long-ago Christian missionary to China named Hudson Taylor wrote this...
"DO NOT HAVE YOUR CONCERT FIRST, AND THEN TUNE YOUR INSTRUMENT AFTERWARDS. BEGIN THE DAY WITH THE WORD OF GOD AND PRAYER, AND GET FIRST INTO HARMONY WITH HIM."
Makes sense! Who would do that? But we all do just that with God sometimes...don't we? So let's hear from you all. What do you think of this quote...of the idea of making time with God our first priority every day? And what are some ways that you recommend that might help us all to start doing that...meeting God first...every day of our lives? Leave your thoughts, comments, ideas here for us all to read. Hope to see you all again soon! You are missed...you are loved...
Many blessings!

I think that’s a great idea to make God your very first priority in the morning. But I will need to remember that because I will often forget that I should take some time after I wake up to talk with the Lord and read my bible. I’m wondering now if I should put my bible under my pillow so that I will remember to read in the morning.

Thank you for sharing this with us Mr. Marty. We heard a Pastor Rick Warren message a few months ago and he recommended having an open Bible next to your bed because an open Bible is more likely to be read then a closed. I found that this actually works extremely well. Before I did this I found it hard to read the Bible because I was too lazy to open it (I know I’m pretty lazy 😂).
After I got into the habit though, reading the Bible is not something I’m super lazy about anymore (I will admit that with school I’m still lazy even if all my school books were open 😏).

It is very important to have fellowship in the morning with God and multiple times I found times during the day where I could apply God’s living word to it.

Even reading a small passage in the Bible every morning is so helpful. Each passage always has a great reminder, whether it’s about His love, or what He has done for me. Praying in the morning is great too because it I’ll prepare me for whatever happens that day. What happens, for me, is that when I don’t read put Him first, I get distracted and forget about it altogether. And Joshua (my brother) is right, we have been leaving our Bible beside us, for morning and night. When I wake up, I see the passage where I left off the night before.

Thanks for this reminder on why it’s so important to put Him before anything else.
